And so, year four has been and gone in the blink of an eye.
Whilst we talked about and demonstrated the Magic of Place someone certainly put a spell on the weather as generally it turned out gorgeous.
It was incredibly busy but somehow (helped by the weather) we always found somewhere to have a chat and what interesting conversations they were. Whilst we saw many old friends it was great that many of our appointments were with fresh places and faces, quite a few who had been recommended to catch up with us which is always fab. One way or another economic growth was on everyone’s lips along with devo which is now very real for many. Whilst some places are waiting to see what develops even more are looking at how to leave a legacy for the places they look after.
For the 4th time, Tuesday night at the Lamb and Flag was Magic of Place night and what a night it was!
We had watched the registrations rise over the weeks but you never know how that translates to the actual event but we had a third more people than ever before which with the quantity of events being held at the same time was amazing. So many new faces and people who had been recommended to come along as it was fun, friendly, great food and drink not a hard sell and truly magical with the amazing Jason Rea who once again was spellbinding! The ambiance was everything you could hope for and testament to the thinkingplace and Lamb and Flag teams. We’re already booked for 2026 and hope to see you there!
Overall, despite some challenges there was an air of positivity and a willingness to embrace change and what it might bring. There seemed to be more thinking about ‘fuzzy geography’, genuine collaboration, doing things differently, reaching out with place even more up front and central.
