We are delighted that Les Ratcliffe, Chair of Coventry And Warwickshire Place Board – Champions is able to contribute to our forthcoming FREE learning event ‘Putting the pizzazz in your place’ on Tuesday 13th September 2022 which is for anyone involved in promoting and shaping their place.
Les has been chair of the Coventry and Warwickshire Place Board – Champions since its creation over 10 years ago, a role which he started whilst still working as Head of Community Relations at Jaguar Land Rover.
In 2010, Les led Jaguar Land Rover to achieving the Business in the Community Mark that publicly recognises excellence in Community Investment in conjunction with Platinum Status for Corporate Responsibility, the first automotive Company to achieve this in the UK. In 2011, Les was awarded ‘The Coventry Award of Merit’ for outstanding personal contribution to Jaguar Land Rover whilst promoting community relations for the City of Coventry.
In December 2012, Les was recognised by Business in the Community as a ‘Game Changer’ a one-off award to recognise the inspirational individuals working behind the scenes to advance the responsible business movement and the following year he was part of the team that led Jaguar Land Rover to be awarded Responsible Business of the Year 2013 and the national award ‘Big Tick’ for JLRs Education programme ‘Inspiring Tomorrow’s Engineers’
He continues to engage in several Business and Community activities in Coventry and Warwickshire including Coventry & Warwickshire Place Board, Champions, CWLEP Growth HUB Board, Nuneaton Town Fund Board and Coventry & Warwickshire NSPCC Business Board.
Les was awarded the MBE in 2016 for services to Business, Education, and the Community and is a Deputy Lieutenant (DL) representing Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the West Midlands.
