thinkingplace now a partner of the Institute of Place Management

thinkingplace is delighted to now be a partner of the Institute of Place Management (IPM) in a collaboration that brings together the academic rigour and best practice research of IPM with the 13 years practitioner experience we have in providing specialist support, advice and place making and marketing implementation.

Place has never been more important for us all from an economic and social perspective yet this is still an emerging discipline and we welcome the opportunity of spreading the word and promoting best practice with IPM. Whether considering the future of High Streets, bidding for Cities of Culture or repurposing local economies place is always at the heart of the action.


Catherine Mitton, Executive Director of The BID Foundation and the Institute of Place Management said  “We’re delighted that thinkingplace have joined IPM as a Partner, which demonstrates their commitment to place as an industry. John, Sarah and the team have already worked with a number of members from the Institute and The BID Foundation on place branding narratives. We recently welcomed John at The BID Foundation annual conference, where he kindly accepted the role to Chair a session, which explored the different roles and functions of town and city centres. We look forward to developing our working partnership further this year and beyond”.
