Coventry and Warwickshire

the brief

Coventry is the 11th largest city in the UK and the economic hub for the region of Coventry and Warwickshire. Since the demise of volume car manufacturing it had lost both its identity, confidence and was ‘punching below its weight’ as a major city. There was a desire to develop a new narrative for the city and region, to engage the most senior stakeholders, to bring the city of Coventry and rural Warwickshire together as one offer creating a sustainable, private sector led delivery approach to developing and marketing the area.

what they say

“The thinkingplace team has enabled us to gain enthusiasm, support and private sector funding for the work and the story they have developed. It represents a new and exciting shared ambition for the place. Most critically they have helped us all think differently about the place, reunited it with the surrounding rural and visitor orientated area of Warwickshire, helped cement a new place led bond between public and private sectors and set out new behaviours to support the roll out of the story in everything we do.”

Martin Reeves,

Chief Executive, Coventry City Council
